Women's Ministry

Our mission is to provide opportunities of equipping and encouraging all the women of University to grow toward maturity in Christ through worship, study, service, fellowship, and evangelism. The Women’s Ministry is served by a Steering Committee of seven devoted members, including:
Ashley Dillard, Vivian Kirby, Delores Leggett, Myra Ramsey, Debbie Rosalis

Caps for CASA:

This ministry is made up of a group of loving women who meet once a month at Craft Night to make hats for newborns and cancer victims at area hospitals.

Bells & Babes:

Bells & Babes is a ministry that guarantees brides-to-be and mothers-to-be will be honored with a shower so that none will be overlooked.

Caring Hearts:

Caring Hearts ministers to our shut-ins, but is not limited to this group with cards, calls, and visits.

Craft Night:

Come join us every third Friday evening in the Family Center. Bring your dinner and a craft you have been working on or one you have been wanting to start and haven’t found the time and    enjoy a night with your sisters in Christ.

Laughter and Lagniappe:

Ladies are invited to attend this event the first Tuesday of each month and discuss various topics. This year will encompass a variety of activities.

Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class:

Our pulpit minister, Jerry Hodge, teachers this Tuesday morning class which meets at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Center Fellowship Hall. Topics are most often textual with practical applications for today’s Christian woman. A nursery is available.

Ladies’ Luncheon:

Join us for a luncheon each year as we review our programs! Share your own ideas, and sign-up for ministries.

Ladies’ Retreat:

Annually, we come together for a day or weekend of encouragement and inspiration

Love Bears:

Bring a smile to a child. Help create comfy “love bears” for children. The crew meets once a week in the Family  Center Fellowship Hall.

Prayer Chain:

Every week our prayer chain prays for the specific needs concerning our University family.

Who’s New Salad Supper:

Several times a year a member hosts a casual Salad Supper in her home to welcome new ladies to the University family. Homes and hostesses vary each time. The evening offers new members a chance to get to know us in a relaxed setting.

Special Food Needs:

This ministry provides food for our families who have suffered a loss or those with a long term illness that are not affiliated with a LIFE Group.

Totes of Hope:

Make a difference in the lives of those in need by helping to collect and distribute care packages for those who need encouragement.

Where is it Ministry?:

“A place for everything and everything in it’s place.” The goal of this ministry is to organize and  inventory all decorations, dishes, etc. from church activities in hopes of reusing it.

Widows Ministry:

These enthusiastic widowed women of University are reaching out to other ladies in the community who have also lost their husbands. This group meets regularly for support, dinner, theater, and more!
